Cristina’s passion for elementary education developed in her undergraduate years at Stanford University, during which she tutored, volunteered in classrooms, and took education and childhood development courses. She returned to Stanford for her Master’s Degree in education and afterwards taught in a bilingual classroom at Thomas Edison Charter School in San Francisco. She then taught second grade at Aspire’s East Palo Alto Charter School. Cristina moved with her husband to the Northeast and is now using the theory and skills gained in her master’s program and teaching experiences to help design and teach at The Croft School. In the classroom, you might find Cristina pulling a small group of children to read, encouraging them to bring the characters to life with expression. Or, you might find her on the floor with the children in the block area, asking “What would happen if you…” Outside the classroom, Cristina may be found spending time with her family, running, camping, cooking, or playing trivia.
