The Croft School: South End, a small, innovative, high-quality private school, opened in September 2022. In 2025-2026, the school will operate with Preschool (Age 3), Pre-Kindergarten (K1), Kindergarten (K2), Grade 1, and Grade 2 classrooms; it will subsequently expand one grade level each year until it reaches capacity as a Preschool through Grade 6 school. The school is designed to serve students living in the South End, South Boston, Back Bay, Roxbury, Fenway, Chinatown, Downtown Crossing, and other Boston neighborhoods. Building upon the foundation of The Croft Schools in Providence and Jamaica Plain, The Croft School: South End was opened in response to requests from neighborhood-area families seeking a higher-quality, more diverse, and more affordable school that would be close to home.

Current Grade Level Configuration (2025-2026): Preschool (Age 3), Pre-Kindergarten (K1), Kindergarten (K2), Grade 1 & Grade 2
Long-Term Grade Configuration: Preschool (Age 3) - Grade 6
Location and Facility: The primary campus of our school is housed at 1525 Washington Street, South End, the site of the former Stella Restaurant. We fully renovated the building during early 2022 to create a beautiful, bright school facility for our youngest learners.
In Summer 2025, we opened the second part of our expanding neighborhood campus, a newly-renovated site located at 1310 Washington Street.
We are fortunate to have a terrific partnership with our South End neighbor, The Salvation Army, through which our students have access to their beautiful gymnasium.
