The Croft School: South End

The Croft School: South End, a small, innovative, high-quality private school, opened in September 2022. In 2023-24, the school will operate with Preschool (Age 3), Pre-Kindergarten (K1), and Kindergarten (K2) classrooms; it will subsequently expand one grade level each year until it reaches capacity as a Preschool through Grade 6 school.  The school is designed to serve students living in the South End, South Boston, Back Bay, Roxbury, Fenway, Chinatown, Downtown Crossing, and other Boston neighborhoods.  Building upon the foundation of The Croft Schools in Providence and Jamaica Plain, The Croft School: South End was opened in response to requests from neighborhood-area families seeking a higher-quality, more diverse, and more affordable school that would be close to home.

Founding School Year: 2022-23

Current Grade Level Configuration (2023-24): Preschool (Age 3), Pre-Kindergarten (K1), and Kindergarten (K2)

Long-Term Grade Configuration: Preschool (Age 3) - Grade 6

Location and Facility: Our lower school campus will be housed at 1525 Washington Street, South End, the site of the former Stella Restaurant. We fully renovated the building during early 2022 to create a beautiful, bright school facility for our youngest learners. In summer and early fall 2023, we will expand our space by an additional 2,000 square feet by annexing an adjoining part of the facility. In summer 2025, we will open a nearby upper school school campus, which will serve as the long-term home for our school’s older grade levels.
